buying locally reduces our carbon footprint, bolsters local industry, and focuses on healthy & ethical food choices...all critical to a sustainable lifestyle. the "buy local" poster's design was inspired by the fact that Detroit Metro Airport had not too long ago bought up the last remaining parcel of what had been historically my family's farm...subsequently ending my family's farming history. the entire farm has now been bought out by the airport, a process that had occurred over decades. the ominous factors of air transit physically ending local farming through land acquisition as well the environmental impact of the airline industry is offset by optimism inspired by my grandmother's legacy and era. a call to reclaim our values, history, and responsibility.
